I have to remind myself that the worst part of winter is over and that there is hope on the horizon!

Speaking of Ostara, I have the perfect cake recipe for Ostara! This cake is like tasting the sweetness of spring. So in true Aquarian fashion, I have to share it!!

OBD is not going to make you scroll and scroll through a bunch of photos and text, and annoying Ads to get to the recipe. No, siree! Iโ€™m posting it front and center. The recipe is below, along with a friendly little button to download it in a pdf document so that you can print it if you so choose.

So without further ado, I give you a taste of spring - the Ostara Cake Recipe.

Ostara Cake Recipe

Some ways to prep yourself for success


Heads up - The butter in this recipe needs to be at room temperature, so be sure to give it enough time to get there. :)
Preheat oven to 350° F and prepare the cake pan or cupcake liners, so youโ€™re ready to start the baking process lickety-split.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups of flour
¾ cup *pistachios, shelled and pulsed into a coarse powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon baking powder
½ Tablespoon cinnamon

2 eggs
1 cup sugar
½ cup room temperature unsalted butter (1 stick)
¾ cup Trader Joe's Blueberry Lavender Flavored Almond Beverage
or regular olโ€™ milk is fine, too ๐Ÿ„
¼ cup
rosewater

Rose Buttercream Frosting

½ cup room temperature unsalted butter (1 stick)
juice from ½ a lemon (approx. 1 ½ Tablespoons)
1 Tablespoon *rosewater
2 cups confectioners (powdered) sugar

Directions

Place shelled pistachios into a food processor and pulse to a coarse powder.

Sift the first five/dry ingredients together in a small bowl (coarse pistachio powder, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt).

Cream together the eggs, sugar, butter, Lavender Almond Milk (or regular milk), and rosewater

Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture until smooth.

Divide evenly into prepared cake pans or cupcakes liners

Bake for 15 - 22 minutes in a 350-degree oven

Meanwhile, prepare the frosting while the cake is doing its thing and baking.
Blend together the butter and confectioner sugar and add rosewater and lemon juice. Add water if needed to make frosting to your desired consistency.

Frost cakes after cakes are completely cooled.
For an added Ostara/Springtime flair, add some *dried rose petals.
